Welcome to the STEPP Program
At East Carolina University, students can access a diverse range of academic programs, including dental, medical, and engineering within the same institution. At STEPP, students have the option of exploring 86 undergraduate majors, all while receiving comprehensive academic support services. Students in the STEPP Program begin their Pirate™ journey during their senior year of high school through a uniquely designed transition curriculum — designed specifically for students with learning disabilities.

The Cove
STEPP students have access to an office space called “The Cove” located in Joyner Library. This is where students can work on their assignments and studies. Plus, students can get help from mentors and tutors who are specifically available for STEPP students.
Main Campus
The Main Campus is where the majority of academic, residential, and research facilities are located. The Main Campus Student Center (MCSC) is a hub for students, offering a variety of dining options, organizations to join, and conference/ballrooms for events and meetings.
Health Sciences Campus
Health Sciences Campus is home to various health-related academic buildings including the Brody School of Medicine. Additionally, the Health Sciences Campus Student Center is North Carolina’s first independent student center on a medical campus.
